Interview with Lucie:
When did you first begin to think that modeling was the path for you?
“My parents were very artistic and musical and I naturally loved been in front of the camera for as long as I can remember.
I first realised it was my passion once I started portraying moods and styles through image modelling work when I was seventeen.”
What has been your biggest struggle as a model?
“Shortly after my 18th birthday I was confident, empowered and driven by new opportunities but I was quickly shut down with criticism and negative backlash.
My friends and family slandered my provocative photos. Those around me didn’t see my perspective or vision and disagreed with my actions. It took a lot of persistence and time to be taken seriously.
Another notable struggle is often people will create a preconceived opinion on me based on images or my public persona. I feel I am often misunderstood and there is much more to me than what meets the eye and I aim to eventually be able to share that!”
What is your ethnicity? You are strikingly gorgeous!
“Aww thank-you! I’m a mix of English, Italian and Scandinavian.”
What do you do to keep your skin so lovely?
“I’ve always struggled with acne. I’ve learnt simplicity and minimization of toxic ingredients is KEY. I cleanse my face before bed using cetaphil as it is non-comedogenic. Then I apply Isocol to my T-zone to tighten my pores and kill congestion causing bacteria. It’s a pure antiseptic and my holy grail! LOVE!”
What was your first shoot for?
“My first shoot came unanticipated when the manager of the lifestyle brand of @Eighty83three stumbled across my account. I was invited to shoot with Sydney photographer @mrchanchui and I gave it a try.
I fell in love with the artistic creativity and process of photography/videography. I enjoyed expressing my attitude and various moods.”
What has been your biggest accomplishment thus far as a model?
“Some highlights would include exploring beautiful locations north of Australia often and travelling overseas. I am grateful for all the amazing sights I am able to see!”
Any big plans for the remainder of 2017?
“The remainder of my year is going to be spent working hard and saving money in order to reach my major goals. I’ll be focusing on self-development and been extremely proactive in life to be properly prepared for a huge 2018. Stay tuned for my new business venture! It’s something different to what I usually do.”
Psychology eh? What inspired you to go into that field?
“I have been very much directly affected by mental health since as long as I can remember. I have unbelievable amounts of life experience and knowledge surrounding so many aspects of the field.
It’s a hard question to summarize as there’s SO many inspirations behind this career path and I can’t elaborate without revealing personal information about myself and loved ones.”
Do you deal with “Haters” if so how do you handle them?
“I’m definitely a night owl unless I’m working/shooting or in set- then I’m an early bird. There is nothing more surreal than watching the sunrise & sunset.“
What do you have to say to the haters out there?
“I definitely do. I’ve learnt to not take others opinions of me personally. Happy strong people build each other up, it takes an insecure and sad person to spread hatred and negativity around life. What haters think of me is none of my business :)”
