Swiss luxury watch and jewellery designer Bucherer has partnered with motorcycle maker Bünderbike to create the most expensive bike in the world. And we all know the result…………
One-of-a-kind mod of a Harley Davidson Softail features 360 diamonds and costs JUST $1.79 million.
With Harley-Davidson busy hemming and hawing over EVs and recruiting Instagram influencers, true-blue hog enthusiasts might be feeling left out.
Where’s the muscle? The swagger? Good ol’ batsh*t bike building?
That mantle has been taken up by none other than the Swiss — in the form of this Harley-Davidson Blue Edition, a gold-plated, diamond-studded and spellbindingly blue bike.
But did you ever think you’ll need a safe on a bike? Dah!!!!! These Swiss makers are crazy, they made it work😆😄. Here’s what they have to say:
The build, more specifically, is a product of three entities: Bucherer Fine Jewellery, Carl F. Bucherer watchmakers and boutique Harley workshop Bündnerbike. The conceit here is that this motorcycle is the latest member of the Bucherer Blue Editions — a series of watches inspired by the color and created in collaboration with some of the world’s most respected horologists, from Longines to Audemars Piguet.
The base for this particular edition is a Harley-Davidson Softail Slim S — with a V-twin engine pumping out 100 HP and a top speed of 117-MPH — but everything from the rims to the tips of the handlebars is custom.
Speaking of those handlebars: they're capped with Bucherer Fine Jewellery’s Dizzler rings (with five in total on the bike, accounting for a whopping 360 diamonds). And two glass-domed safes are built into the tank; the left houses a 5.40 carat-diamond Solitaire Heaven ring, the right a Carl F. Bucherer watch based on the Patravi TravelTec II. Rose gold plating is featured throughout, including on every single screw. And that iridescent blue paint job? You only get that specific hue when the entire bike is first plated in silver.
The special Harley-Davidson Blue Edition bike took a year to design. A team of 8 people put more than 2,500 hours into completing the project.
For people in the States, this pairing seems unexpected to say the least. 😋
It seems like Bucherer Group's is just trying to impress us Yanks given the fact they recently purchased Tourneau, America’s largest watch retailer.
And you know what? It’s working.
