“I had a great childhood actually. I went to private school and my parents were together. They divorced later on and we added a bunch of ethnicities to our family. It’s crazy, my dad was married before my mom and then he remarried after they divorced as did she.

I have siblings that are black, Columbian, you name it. There are a lot of nationalities represented over here. Other than that, I played piano, was into sports, and did acting.

I went on from high school to apply to nursing school, but ended up in the work field instead. Going from a VP of sales to an executive assistant at Insomniac, it has been a journey.

Somewhere along this journey I lost that fire, that sense of being a woman and feeling sexy. One day my cousin was doing a shoot with an amazing photographer and she asked me to do one too. I had no idea what I was doing but since then it’s been a snowball effect. It has kind of changed my life, it’s awesome.

I am now currently re-applying to nursing school, while making my canvas an art piece for these amazing photographers including Joseph Sanchez.”

Camyle Meier’s Interview:

Did you always dream of becoming a model?

“When I was younger, I used to have my sisters take photos of me as if I was Cindy Crawford. Of course, my dream of becoming a nurse took over and it wasn’t until recently that I was able to pursue my love of being in front of the camera again. I am so blessed to be able to do both nursing and modeling now.

What has been your favorite shoot so far?

“I can’t say I have a favorite shoot. Each photographer brings their own talent and style. It has been a journey and just like any hobby, talent or job, it gets better each time.

I currently have been able to shoot with over 30 photographers. Each having a different look and style, personality and some turning into a lifelong friendship.”

Tell us about a typical day in the life of Camyle.

“My days used to be very structured. I would wake up in the morning, go to my 9-5 job, whether it was my sales job for a jewelry company or being an executive assistant for Insomniac, I was always in a white collard job. Now, I am in a career change and going back to school to get my bachelor in nursing.”

Do you have a lover? If yes, please tell us about how you met.

“I kiss but never tell. 🙂

What are some of your pet peeves when shooting?

“I don’t really have much pet peeves. I think the most annoying thing is when photographers ask to shoot, but have no location, inspo or direction as to what they want and I end up doing most of the work. I guess it would be no collaboration or lack thereof.”

Do you have plans to travel this summer? If so, where?

“I was supposed to go to Italy this summer, but my acceptance into nursing school has put any traveling aside for the next two years.

Vanilla or Chocolate?

“Can’t I have both?

Do you like dinner or breakfast better?

“OMG!! Breakfast 100% I love pancakes, french toast and waffles all at the same time. Bacon, eggs and sausage with syrup on top. Also, my mother being Japanese and from Hawaii, spam and eggs are a must!

Favorite shops?

“Favorite shops have to be All Saints, LF and who doesn’t love Forever 21!”

Do you ever deal with ‘Mean Girls’? Share some ideas…

“Mean Girls (as I say with a smirk) At 22 maybe, but now that I am a little older, more experienced and mature about most situations, I don’t believe in mean girls. I believe in bringing all women together for moral support, a good ear and an occasional mimosa brunch!

Joseph Sanchez says the concept behind this shoot was a woman getting ready to go on a night on the town, and the process of getting ready.

Photographer’s Note:

“The concept behind this shoot was a woman getting ready to go on a night on the town, and the process of getting ready. I wanted to capture the process of getting ready and feeling sexy while doing it. Working with Camyle was a great time. We both had similar ideas when it came to the look, and there was great chemistry. I believe this should be included in VOLO magazine because it is sexy yet mysterious, revealing but not raunchy.”
