It’s not unusual for many of us to give up alcohol for Lent. Are you in that number? If so, there are several drinks that are making it a breeze to get thorough the 40-day Lenten season.
A word of advice, be ready if others do react when they hear you aren’t drinking. Some may say “just one won’t hurt.” So, here’s to sticking to your plan and remember you can still drink for fun without the alcohol. Cheers!
1 The Lenten Cocktail: The Sazerac
Sazerac, is made with rye whiskey, Peychaud’s bitters, Angostura bitters, sugar and an absinthe rinse. A true classic, one of the oldest cocktails!
2 The Recovery Ramos: Just don’t go by the name
A non-alcoholic craft beverage which features Seedlip “Garden” Hydrosol, Domaine Sante All-Sass Riesling nectar, orange flower water, cream, egg white, lemon, and soda.
3 If the Shoe Fits: You may wanna try it!
A drink that features roasted apple and chili, lemon, and soda.
4 Buckwheat “Champagne”: Just the resemblance
A twist on a granita and a gin and tonic; a Chinotto sweetened with wood syrup; and, below, a buckwheat tea that, once infused with carbon dioxide, gives just the perfect blend needed.
5 Stoned Fruit: Just over the rocks!
A twist with yuzu and half stone fruit(could be a plum, nectarine, apricot, or another seasonal stone fruit) along with mezcal and CBD tincture muddled in a bar tin, giving you an mouth full of blasting flavours.
