“Hey there! My name is Vanessa Bezzant. I am an elite freelance model based in the state of Utah. Modeling has always been a dream of mine. It was a really long road to arrive where I am today. I come from a broken home where my siblings and I were separated when we were placed in the foster care system. It is an absolute miracle that I was able to return to my father. I still am searching for my brother and sister and hope that my modeling guides me to them.
I honestly never imagined that modeling would be a reality with the standard model measurements. I was convinced that it would never be an option for me. Fortunately, I never give up and was given an opportunity which lead to several opportunities. Although, I feel I have gained a lot of experience. I still feel like I can always become a better model. I enjoy telling a story in photos and learning new poses! Modeling is my passion, and I hope I encourage and inspire others to follow their dreams.”
Interview with Vanessa Bezzant
When was your first photo shoot?
“My first photo shoot was in 2015. At that time, I was working full time and recently graduated from Cosmetology school. I started looking for the opportunity to be a makeup artist. I joined a Face book modeling group with intentions to do makeup and hair. Instead of receiving messages for my chosen field. I received messages to model. I was very flattered, and accepted thinking that it would most likely be a one time thing.
After posting the photos on my social media pages. I was bombarded with messages that showed interest in my “look”! My self-esteem went through the roof and I jumped on the modeling train and have had consistent work ever since. I am so grateful for the opportunities that I have been given!”
What inspired you to get in front of the camera?
“Those that did not believe in me and those that I believe in.”
What kind of kid were you in school?
“I am happy to say that I was a well rounded student. Almost like everyone, I started at the top of the class. I went through phases, that some people might consider less academically inclined. I had my times of academic rebellion. I spent time as an introvert and keeping to myself.
I found that being the social butterfly was more my style. I always attempted to be caring and a kind individual to all that have treated me the same. I learned early on, that there are all kinds of wonderful people in the world that you can learn from. I fine it sad that most people don’t become aware of that of the relationships they missed out on until later on in life. I am very happy with the experiences that I had in my schooling years…”
What was your favorite past time as a teen?
“I have to say that 2 things kept me going through my teenage years:
Music – I have an unhealthy obsession with rhythms and beats. I would not be able to function in life without some sort of vocal/instrumental inspiration. Music gives me my focus and courage to overcome any challenge. Before any shoot, I have to turn on my play list before I can start getting ready. I have a speaker in my bag that is dedicated to creating the right looks in any photo. I am thankful for all those that dedicate their lives to music and keep mine going!
Dance – Las Bailes with my friends made everything right in the world. I was blessed with amazing friends that opened my eyes to multiple styles of dance. Dance was something which allowed me to express myself. It helped me build my self-confidence being a dancer that others cheered on. They say that dance is very sexual. It definitely helped me to discover my sexuality!”
Were you naughty or nice this year?
“When I ponder or take time to look at myself. I am very critical and not about to apply the “nice” status to myself. I have the mentality that being naughty is SO much more fun! I’ve been too tempted to attend S&M parties this year! I am definitely a naughty girl!
There are too many times that I execute my photo shoots with the goal to make the photo so intense that it is too much for the normal person. I love to see the “rise” I get out of people. The more heated the discussions, the better!”
Any modeling plans for 2018 we should be excited about?
“I usually save most of my exciting events for my fans on my social media pages. That way, my fans’ anticipation continues to remind me that it is real. If I have to say one thing that I still can’t believe for 2018. A comic book has selected me for their main character! I definitely can’t wait to see the final product! #GetReady”
What do you do to stay in such great shape?
“Honestly, I do my best to be continually active. I work full-time as a Studio Director at Amazing Lash Studio. I spend as much time continuing my passion of dance through Zumba. I can’t deny that I have metabolism on my side. I come from great stock that luckily doesn’t need excessive amounts of exercise to maintain my appearance. I am happy to live in an age that promotes healthy living with all the information just a click away!”
What has been your biggest accomplishment so far, as a model?
“I am so grateful for the opportunities that I have had as a model. I have been in multiple magazine publications, I have modeled at Comic Con, I am a “Sugar Bear” for the radio station KBER101, and have been featured in multiple music videos for aspiring artist. Personally, I believe that my major accomplishment of my modeling career.
I was selected by well known photographers in my area to demonstrate my modeling experience in a model workshop. In which I was able to meet a bunch of aspiring models with whom I shared my experience. I love to inspire others to follow their dreams and help them know that anything is possible!”
Who are your biggest supporters?
“When I think of the person that has given me the most support. I only think of my father who has been their since day one. He was a single dad who’s sole purpose was for my brother and I to succeed. He has always supported me in anything that I do. I am so thankful for such an amazing father who sacrificed everything to make me what I am today!”
Who are your role models?
Her passion for compassion is truly inspiring. She is a beautiful soul spreading love vs hate worldwide. I absolutely love how she inspires beauty within oneself and not to be defined or blinded by society.
I feel she has revolutionized the model industry. She makes short and voluminous sexy!”
What do you have to say to the haters out there?
“Honestly, I have to say that “Haters” to me are my biggest motivators. They can to say some crazy ass shit, but none of that matters as long as what I do makes me happy. Most of the time, “Haters” are people that think that they have the responsibility to control other people’s actions.
I believe that anyone has the right to act or do what they desire. So if I had to say anything to those that choose to demean or attempt to control others lives. That would be, “Go find you a white crayon & color a fucking zebra” (Lyrics by Eminem)
This quote is perfect – “Small minds cannot comprehend big spirits. To be great, You have to be willing to be mocked, hated and misunderstood. Be strong!“
