Model: Monik Gonzalez | @gabrielamonik_
Photographer: Hanna Nguyen| @misshannanguyen
I and Monik have been working together since the very beginning! When I had first started out with my photography, she let me do her first photoshoot. She was one of the first few girls who would actually model for me, none of my other friends ever wanted to. From there she started doing a lot of modeling and more models started reaching out to me once everyone was seeing the pictures we would always do together.
Throughout the years we’ve always continued to link back up to shoot again. She’s so beautiful and looks good at any angle. You literally can’t get a single bad photo of her, ever. I love working with her and I will always appreciate her for supporting my photography from the very beginning.” – Hanna Nguyen

Interview with Monik Gonzales
What is your ethnicity? You are strikingly gorgeous!
Are you excited to be featured as a GlamGirl?
Did you always dream of becoming a model? When did you first begin to think that modeling was the path for you?
Every girl dreams of being a model but when I was little and ugly I never figured it would be me. I started to think modeling was the path for me once I got exposed to the business side of modeling. Obviously the glamour and attention is what attracted me initially but realized people were making a living from doing something I already loved was what sealed the deal.
How long have you been modeling and what would you count as your biggest accomplishments?
Technically I have been modeling for 4 years but I only count the last 2 years because before it was just a hobby. I think that switch from it being a hobby to a career choice is my biggest accomplishment. When you’re just having fun you aren’t thinking about learning more about the industry, putting yourself out there and making the right connections, like I am now.
What has been your biggest struggle as a model?
Balancing motherhood and work.
What are your plans for 2018 – Modeling wise?
To have complete tunnel vision so I can stay focused and motivated.
Do you ever deal with haters? If yes, how do you handle them?
What people have to say about me is of no interest to me.
Single or ready to get out n’ mingle?
None of the above.
Any advice for other models who are just starting out?
Save your money, The climb is expensive.
I am a Fort Worth/Dallas based photographer. I grew up completely addicted and in love with America’s Next Top Model, wishing that some day that would be me. Growing up I’ve realized that I don’t have the face or the look to be a model, so in turn I use photography to live my dreams through capturing and creating beautiful images of other women. I love being able to express my passion through guiding the models with posing, expressions, as well as directing and creating the whole concept of the photoshoot. Being able to collaborate with other creative minds, imagine, and bring ideas to life is so satisfying as an artistic individual. Being a woman myself, I take much pride and joy in helping every model feel like the best version of themselves.
