John Wick 3 is going to begin filming earlier than expected. Omega Underground confirms the Chad Stahelski-directed sequel starring Keanu Reeves as everyone’s favourite vengeful assassin will start shooting April 26.
To think, it all started because Iosef Tarasov – played by Alfie Allen – decided to kill John Wick’s puppy. If he could’ve just shown some restrain we wouldn’t be here, right now, excitedly waiting for the third – and most likely final film in the John Wick saga.
Here’s everything you can possibly get to know about the movie.
An evil rumor
In January 2018, a rumor began circulating that actor Hiroyuki Sanada had joined the cast of John Wick: Chapter 3, playing the role of the film’s primary villain. I guess we’ll have to possibly wait and watch whether it’s true or not 🤔
John Wick 3 plot
John has nowhere left to go, we all know that. But If you haven’t seen any of the John Wick movies, do yourself a favor and go watch them now before reading ahead. There will be spoilers! Okay, now that you’ve caught up let’s get into it…
Who knows where John will end up in John Wick Chapter 3, but chances are the John Wick 3 plot will include a fair number of intense shootouts from different locations around the world. OR Maybe John and his new Pitbull will be relaxing oceanside with a tiki drink and huge glop of suntan lotion on his face? I can see the title now, John Wick Chapter 3: How John Wick Got his Groove Back.
Hmmm, while that’s a great scenario to imagine, it’s more likely that he’ll be fighting for his life and shooting goons in the head in some cold and bleak part of the world. And a lot of people will die (for sure…….)
Amazing cast of killers
The plot has been kept tightly under-wraps, but there are plenty of juicy tidbits that have been leaked throughout pre-production.
The first is that Chad Stahelski, the stuntman-turned-director, is back to helm the third entry. He co-directed the first alongside David Leitch (Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2) and headed up the sequel entirely.
The screenwriter of the first two, Derek Kolstad, is also back.
The sequel ended with Wick breaking one of the codes of the assassin world, killing on the grounds of the Continental hotel. A bounty was placed on his head in return, making him enemy number one for every assassin in the world.
Expect to see more of Ruby Rose and hey but wait Will Tilda Swinton be in John Wick Chapter 3?!?!
You know, I had the chance to work with her,” Reeves said, adding, “I was in two films with her but had the chance to work with her once, I'm onboard with that. We run into each other once in a while socially out there in the world. She's a remarkable person and actress, so I'm all aboard with that!”
The show, The Continental, has already been picked up by Starz. Sadly, our man Keanu won't be the star, even if he pops up for a few episodes.
We want, not so much to go bigger on the third one, but to show you more of the intricacies of the world… I feel like there are all these different subtleties that I skipped over in Number Two, that I’d like to go back to on [chapter 3] and show you the inner workings of different parts of New York. So rather than massive set pieces, I’d like to show you cooler and more intricate ones… I think it would be a mistake budget wise and creatively to just go big and blow up a freeway. That’s not our gig. That’s a comic book or a Bond gig. We want to show you cool and intricate details. What are those little details in everyday life? Hopefully – we make people look at garbage collectors and cleaner vans and homeless people a little differently now.”
So, don’t worry—John Wick will remain John Wick where you want to look around every corner to see how this world works rather than trying to wow you with massive CGI set pieces.
Ready, aim, shoot
The third sequel of the John Wick franchise will hit theatres in 2019.Long wait for us😓😓The tentative release date is of May 17th, 2019. (It’s just tentative, don’t blame me for it😋😉)
