Orlebar Brown’s first involvement with the 007 series goes back to Skyfall, after they provided Daniel Craig’s swimwear for a very brief pool scene.
This new collection features artwork from four James Bond movies printed on the British swimwear manufacturer’s Bulldog swim shorts. The four films in question are Dr No, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice and Live And Let Die.
Curiously Skyfall isn’t reference, at least for now, and this is a different model to that which appeared in Skyfall.
The Setter model features a shorter leg than the Bulldog. The trunks come in OB’s flattering “Classic Bulldog” cut with a trouser-style waistband, side-fasteners and a perfectly respectable six-inch inseam that hopefully shows off just the right amount of man-thigh.
Few men lead the life of British spy James Bond, but many share his taste for luxury and style. Celebrate the legacy of the James Bond movies with the new 007 collection swim collection people.
Here take a look:
1 BULLDOG 007 DR. NO
This iconic beach scene from the first Bond film Dr. No is sure to inspire you to seek similar sunny adventures. You might spot the difference between the film and image: the blue shirt Sean Connery wore was hand-tinted orange to create more eye-catching promotional lobby cards.
2 BULLDOG 007 THUNDERBALL
This illustration from the Thunderball film poster features Sean Connery as Bond fighting off a SPECTRE agent. These underwater action scenes contributed to the film winning an Oscar for Best Visual Effects, and make for a perfect pair of swim shorts for all 007 enthusiasts.
3 BULLDOG 007 YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE
We've used artwork depicting a stylised Bond coolly piloting an autogyro while being pursued by SPECTRE helicopters for a striking pair of shorts. In typical style, he appears cool, calm and collected—so much so that his hands aren’t even touching the steering.
4 BULLDOG 007 LIVE AND LET DIE
The loud and proud swim shorts launch in early July, but you can pre-order a pair now if you're willing to drop $395. I’m not sure any of the designs is particularly flattering. However, if they are your kind of thing and you’re looking forward to your summer holiday then it’s perfect timing.
Feel the heat with classic 007 trunks. 😉
