Model & Photographer: Miluniel | @miluniel
Take a step into my world, where my need of lightness and freedom takes the power over my dark side and gives birth to a series of immaculate self-portraits.
I had a nice childhood! I’m the eldest of a family of 4 children and my parents are still together. I love my family and I lived with them in the belgian countryside (in the french speaking part) until I was 17. Then I spent a year as an exchange student in the United States. This is when I discovered that I really love to travel! As my taste for art and photography, I really have no clue where that comes from ^^ My family is open minded, but rather Cartesian!
VOLOGLAM interview with Miluniel
When did you first begin to think that modelling was the path for you?
” When I was younger, I wasn’t really self-confident. A beauty pageant was organized in my hometown and, every year, my friends would tell me that I should do it. I finally accepted, as a personal challenge, and I won the contest. Some photographers saw me and asked me if I would be interested in a photoshoot. I thought “Why not?”. Alongside that, I started to study computer graphics design and photography. It soon became a passion and I wanted to explore different styles. I realized that I loved glamour photography as a model and as a photographer. I’ve worked with many photographers, but I also love doing self-portraits =)”
What has been your biggest struggle as a model?
“When you start modelling, you really notice your weaknesses and start to complex. There are things that you can do to look better, but you also need to learn how to love yourself as you are. “
What is your ethnicity? You are strikingly gorgeous!
“I’m Belgian, my ancestors are too… So I definitely have the pure caucasian look. “
Are you excited to be featured as a GlamGirl?
“Sure! It’s an honour =) “
VOLOGLAM Interview with Miluniel Cont’d.
How long have you been modelling and what would you count as your biggest accomplishments?
“I think I started about 10 years ago. I wasn’t really serious about it at first, but I began more and more involved. I feel lucky that I posed for some very talented photographers and have been published in many great magazines“
What are your plans for 2018 – Modelling wise?
“: I travelled a lot in Europe and in Australia. I would really like to work in the USA and in Asia as well! And, as a lingerie addict and fashion lover, maybe starting working on my own line…“
Do you ever deal with haters? If yes, how do you handle them?
“I think everybody does and it doesn’t really affect me. I generally just ignore them. I would want to live in a benevolent world.“
Tell us about some pet peeves you have when shooting
“Sometimes when I work with some other photographer I don’t feel a chemistry or connection which I find really annoying. I think having a connection is important when you want to create a beautiful image . Another pet peeve when shooting would be when the time of the month comes ! 🙄”
Single or ready to get out n’ mingle?
“I’m not single, but I prefer to keep that part private 😉 “
Any advice for other models who are just starting out?
“Do what you love, but don’t be too naive and be careful. Unfortunately, everyone does not have good intentions. “
